What is Facial Cupping?
Facial Cupping is a modification of an alternative therapy known as Cupping. Traditional Cupping Therapy has its roots deep within Chinese Medicine and can also be traced back to Ancient Egypt. In ancient times, heat was applied to a vessel, then applied to the skin, creating suction. Today, heat may be used, but in most cases, glass or plastic cups are attached to a pump by a gasket, allowing a vacuum seal. The purpose of Cupping is to separate the skin from the deeper layers of fascia and muscle, which allows for increased circulation, detoxification, and release of tension in the tissue.
How does Facial Cupping work?
Facial Cupping works by using gentle suction to pull the skin away from the deeper layers of fascia and muscle. This improves circulation and opens the lymphatic channels, allowing excess fluid to drain.

How to Use Facial Cups
Make sure you have adequate lubrication on the skin. Use a generous amount of facial oil, my Self Love Ritual Oil or Remedy Oil are both great options! Apply the oil from your forehead to your sternum.
Using the larger cup, pulse it over your Thymus (center of your sternum) 3-6 times. Begin sweeping out from the center of the chest to the armpit, working from the top of the sternum down about 3 passes.
pulse over the dip just above your clavicle, 3-6 times on each side, then 3-6 pulses just below the ear. Connect these two points, gliding slowly down the neck, using minimal suction.
Pulse 3-6 times under the chin and sweep out to the base of the jaw 3 times.
Slowly work your way up your face, working from the center out. Use as little suction as you can to maintain contact with the skin. Pass over each section 3 times before moving up to the next session.
Start by cupping once a day every day for the first week. After the first week, you should cup 2-3 times a week for 5-10 minutes. Spend no more than 10 minutes per session.
